You add vehicles to the system so that you can assign drivers to the correct vehicles, and manage their capacities and other attributes. When you have added vehicles, you can search for them, edit their attributes, assign them to channels, and assign drivers to them.
This article is about managing types of vehicles in the NowGo settings. For information about adding and editing individual vehicles, see the Add and edit vehicles article.
Manage vehicle types
When you have added some vehicle types, you can see them by navigating to Settings → Vehicle Types.
This page shows a list of the available vehicle types. Click a vehicle type to see the details for each type. Click Edit to edit the vehicle type.
Navigate to the Archived tab to see only vehicle types that you have archived instead.
Use the search bar at the top of the vehicle types list to search for a vehicle type.
Add a new vehicle type
You can add a new vehicle type from the Settings page.
Adding a new vehicle type
In the NowGo dashboard, click your email address in the top right corner, and select Settings.
Navigate to the Vehicle types section, and click Add new vehicle type to open the Vehicle type settings screen.
In the Vehicle type settings screen, complete these details:
In the Name field, type a name for the vehicle type.
In the Icon field, select an icon to use for this vehicle type. The icon is used for this vehicle type on the map.
Optional: In the External reference section, add any external references. For more information about external references, see the NowGo Developer documentation.
In the Capacities section, click Add new to create a capacity to use for all vehicles with this type:
In the Capacity field, select the measurement to use for this capacity. For example, the weight the vehicle is able to carry, or the number of parcels.
In the Maximum value field, type a number that represents the maximum amount this vehicle type can carry.
Optional: In the Attributes section, create a key:value pair. For more information about external references, see the NowGo Developer documentation.
Click Save new to save your new vehicle type.
Edit an existing vehicle type
If you need to change details for a vehicle type, you can edit the vehicle type from the Settings page. You can also use this screen to archive vehicle types.
Editing an existing vehicle type
In the NowGo dashboard, click Resourcing.
In the Vehicles tab, locate the vehicle you want to edit, and click Edit to open the Vehicle type settings screen.
Change the details as required, and click Save changes to update the vehicle type. If the update is successful, a green notification message is shown at the bottom of the screen.
Optional: If you want to archive a vehicle type, click Archive from this screen.
