Fleets and jobs can be segmented into channels for reduced operator complexity. Channels may be created to differentiate depots, to represent regions in franchisee models or otherwise to separate operations.
Jobs and drivers can be moved between channels based on different rules and workflows, ensuring maximum flexibility in operation.
Channels as part of NowGo
Within NowGo, channels play a central role for optimisation and information processing. They mainly describe a logical differentiation within NowGo.
Channels serve the purposes of segmenting data for streamlining processes and for separation of independent work streams. Through channel segregation, many of NowGo's operations are completed faster and with less friction.
Channels also allow isolating optimisation efforts and reduce complexity in planning and dispatching of plans.
Channels as a tool for Dispatchers
NowGo Dashboard users (e.g. dispatchers) can use channels to segment their fleet for reduced complexity. Drivers can be filtered by channel and date to supervise and track operations and perform support tasks.
Channels as a tool for Admins
System and organisation administrators can use NowGo channels to segment their fleet along their business structures and manage user permissions. Similar as for dispatchers, channels allow administrators to easily oversee their operations in self-defined segmentation.
User permissions can be configured per user to allow and withhold access to each single channel.
Channels in the context of integrations
Fleets (drivers and vehicles), jobs, and shifts can be segmented into channels for reduced complexity. Through integrations, those channels can be viewed and edited. For more detail, please refer to the NowGo API documentation.
When assigning, creating or editing jobs, drivers, shifts or vehicles, their channel can be specified to directly create and show the object in the correct channel for the above users. If no channel specification is supplied, the object will be created in the organisation's default channel.
