Summary: Dispatchers might find it useful to test changes to a channel for a particular day without impacting drivers on the road.

The plan option is a useful way to see how the day can change without impacting the drivers that are already working for the day. You can also use it to troubleshoot some issues or to determine what resources might be needed to meet your operational requirements.

In dispatch, click on the "Planning" button located at the top right of the screen next to solve.

Here you can make changes without affecting live data.

If you decide you want these changes to take place in the live environment, click on "Dispatch Plan" located at the top right of the screen. If enabled, drivers will see a notification in the app advising them of how many shift updates they have received and will be asked to acknowledge them.

If you do not want to update the live environment, click on "Discard Changes" located at the top left of the screen or simply exit close the window.

If it has been some time since you opened planning and you want to make sure your plan still makes sense given any changes that happened int he live environment (such as jobs being completed), select "refresh information".
