Dispatch dashboard overview

Learn the main features of the dispatch dashboard. View and manage shifts, jobs, driver location, and access all the settings you need.

Updated this week

The NowGo dispatch dashboard is your command centre for managing jobs, shifts, drivers, and consignments. Use the dashboard to monitor active shifts, track driver locations, create jobs, and access other areas of NowGo. The dashboard automatically refreshes every 60 seconds to provide the latest information.

This article provides an overview of the functions of the NowGo dashboard. For an overview of the NowGo mobile app, see the Mobile app article.

Supported versions

The NowGo dashboard is supported on devices running the latest versions of these web browsers:

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • Apple Safari

  • Google Chrome

  • Microsoft Edge

If you are having trouble running the dashboard, check that you are on the latest version of your browser and operating system. You can also try clearing your browser cache and cookies and refreshing the page.

Navigating the dashboard

💡NOTE: NowGo is a highly configurable platform. Your version of the dashboard might look different, or have slightly different functionality to that shown here. If you have any questions or concerns about using the dashboard, get in touch.

When you log in to the dashboard, you are taken to the Dispatch tab. Click Dispatch in the top navigation bar to navigate to this tab, or click the NowGo logo in the top left corner.

The first time you log in to the dashboard, you need to select a channel and a date in the top left corner, under the NowGo logo. You can also adjust this at any time to see data for a different channel, or an older date.

When you have selected the date and the channel you’d like to see shift data for, the map is populated with colour-coded icons indicating the most recent known location for each driver on shift.

Click a driver icon or name to see a summary of their current shift, including the start and end time of the shift, the last time their location was updated, and the details of the stops during that shift. A green tick next to a job shows successful completion, where a red cross indicates a failed pickup or delivery.

Click a stop to see more information about the job that the stop belongs to. You can also drill down into detailed information about the time and location the job was completed, see what communications have been sent to the recipient about the job, access the live tracking link, and see proof of delivery.

Click Add in the top right hand corner of the Dispatch screen to manually add jobs and shifts, singly or in bulk by .csv upload. For more information about using .csv to upload data, see the Using CSV files collection.

Click Solve in the top right hand corner of the Dispatch screen to automatically assign and sequence stops using existing shifts based on your parameters. Click the settings icon next to it to change your solve settings. For more information about solving, see the Optimising routes article.

In the bottom right hand corner of the map, there are a series of map controls. These controls are:

Resourcing

The Resourcing tab is where you manage driver accounts, vehicles, and shifts. Click Resourcing in the top navigation bar to navigate to this tab. Drivers and vehicles are real-world resources used to complete jobs. Shifts can be assigned to a driver and a vehicle.

When a driver is assigned a shift, they can use the driver app to see the stops scheduled in that shift, and complete them. Scheduled stops can also have an estimated time of arrival (ETA). Dispatchers can change the order of planned stops, and the app shows the changes for the assigned driver.

For more information about managing driver accounts and vehicles, see the drivers and vehicles collection. For more information about managing shifts, see the jobs, stops, and shifts collection.

Jobs

The Jobs tab is where you manage jobs, stops, and consignments. Click Jobs in the top navigation bar to navigate to this tab. You can filter this data by date range, completion status, stop type, channel and driver. You can also export this data into .csv format.

Jobs can contain multiple stops. At minimum, they usually have a pickup and a delivery, but there are also options to onboard, offboard, and sort. Consignments contain one or more items, all of which have unique IDs that a driver can scan at each stop.

For more information about jobs, stops, and consignments, see the jobs, stops, and shifts collection.

Reports

The Reports tab is where you find the reporting suite. Click Reports in the top navigation bar to navigate to this tab. You can select a report, and create filters by date, channel, driver, and vehicle to get a comprehensive look into your operations. You can also export this data into .csv format.

For more information about the reports available, see the dashboard reports collection.

Messaging

The Messaging tab is where you can message drivers using the mobile app. Click Messaging in the top navigation bar to navigate to this tab. You can send messages to individual drivers directly, or send out broadcast messages to a group of drivers you select. You can also see replies on this screen.

Plans

The Plans tab is where you can organise your plans. Click Plans in the top navigation bar to navigate to this tab. Plans operate like a snapshot of the state of a channel, allowing you to be able to make changes and see the results without changing your live channels.

A screenshot of the top menu bar in the dashboard, showing the Plans tab

Click Planning in the top right hand corner of the Dispatch screen to start a new plan.

You can use a plan to capture either the full state of a channel in a given window of time, or a view of specific jobs and channels. This allows you to create plans with fine-grained contents, allowing a single shift to be optimised without dealing with live ongoing events.

For more information about working with plans, see the Planning article.
