Summary: Dashboard users who are familiar with using NowGo to solve for an entire channel can now plan and dispatch for a small subset of shifts/jobs
As you may be aware you can use NowGo to solve for all drivers, shifts, and jobs in a particular channel by following the process set out here:
As of a recent update, you can streamline your sequencing by narrowing your focus to a smaller subset of shifts and jobs by:
Holding the Shift key; and
Clicking and dragging your mouse over a section of the map containing your desired stops and shifts; or
Hold the Shift key and click on specific jobs or shifts.
This will open a panel for your selected shifts, and another panel for your selected jobs.
Dashboard panel for shifts: Top Left
Dashboard panel for jobs: Top right
You can de-select individual shifts and jobs by holding shift and clicking on the shift or job on the map that you want to remove from the selection list.
Once you have selected your desired jobs and shifts, you can click the drop down labelled “Planning” and start a plan for "Selected shifts"; or "Selected shifts + unassigned stops".
This will open a plan with only your selected shifts and jobs, in this plan you can then perform a solve.
Key steps when performing a selective solve:
Select a combination of shifts and jobs with improvement potential. Look for geographical areas with;
Overlapping shifts
Large number of unassigned jobs
Shifts with a lot of lateness
Ensure shifts are setup correctly
The right shifts are frozen
Jobs required for a particular shift are locked
Iterate towards an optimal result
Change settings as results come back (particularly Maximum allowed lateness)
Spend a maximum of 5-6 minutes in a selective solve, particularly during busy days. As more jobs trickle in/get completed you might find it easier to use smart assign.
