Overview
The dashboard serves as a home page for dispatchers and admin users in NowGo, and is where several key actions can be performed:
Viewing active shifts for a particular date - what jobs and stops have been/will be completed, which drivers are/were on shift
Seeing the approximate whereabouts of any on-shift drivers at a glance
Creating new jobs and shifts (if the company does not import this information to NowGo via API and therefore needs to create them manually)
Assigning new jobs to shifts (as above)
Navigating to all other areas of NowGo
The dashboard is set to automatically refresh once every 60 seconds.
Creating Shifts & Jobs
A shift represents a period of time in which a driver is working in NowGo. Shifts tell the system when each driver can be scheduled to complete stops.
Stops are assigned to shifts for completion, either automatically by the system or manually by a dispatcher.
To the top right corner of the dashboard, you will see the ‘Add’ button. This allows you to add shift and job data to NowGo manually from the dashboard, either one-by-one or in bulk via csv.
⚠️this functionality is only relevant to merchants who use NowGo as a standalone solution, ie. where shift and job data is not being imported to NowGo via API.
Viewing Shift & Stop Data
Shifts
When you first log into the dashboard, you should see a count of 0 shifts in the top left corner. This is because you are required to select a channel first before any shifts can be displayed.
The date of the shifts will default to the current date upon login, but you can change this if you’d like to see historical data for any past shifts.
Once you have selected the date and the channel you’d like to see the shift data for, colour-coded icons indicating the last-updated location for each driver on shift will appear, similar to the below.
Clicking into a driver’s icon or name will open a summary of that driver’s shift, including the start and end time of the shift, the last time their location was updated in NowGo and the details of the stops they completed (or will complete) during that shift.
This view will also show any failed pickups or deliveries, indicated by a red cross instead of a green tick.
Stops
Clicking into an individual stop will show you the following information about the job that stop belongs to:
From there, if you click into ‘Info’, a box will appear showing detailed information about the job including the time and exact location (address as well as coordinates) the job was marked Complete.
This is also where you will be able to see details regarding what communications were sent to the recipient for the job, and access the live tracking link.
Proof of Delivery (POD) Information
To view the POD details for a stop, open the relevant driver’s shift as outlined in Shifts, and select the stop you wish to view the POD for.
This will show you the relevant completion details including POD artefacts.
Dashboard Toggles
At the bottom right corner of the dashboard, you have the following toggles which allow you to enable or disable certain settings making the dashboard easier for you to view.
From left to right, these options allow you to show/hide driver routes, show/hide completed stops and show/hide historical GPS coordinates.
Additional Navigation
Resourcing
This takes you to the section of NowGo where you can manage Drivers, Vehicles and Shifts. Drivers and Vehicles are the real-world resources used to complete jobs. Shifts can be assigned to a driver and a vehicle.
When a driver is assigned a shift, they can use the driver app to see the stops scheduled in that shift, and complete them. Scheduled stops will also have an ETA. Dispatchers can change the order of planned stops, and the app will show the changes.
Jobs
This takes you to the section of NowGo where you can view all the jobs (and relevant stops) in the org. You can filter this data by date range, completion status, stop type, channel and driver. You can also export this data into csv format.
Reports
This takes you to the NowGo reporting suite. You will find a summary of each type of report, as well as options for filtering and an outline of what fields each report will show.
Messaging
Note that this functionality may not be available on all NowGo orgs.
This takes you to NowGo’s Messaging console. Dispatchers can use the Messaging functionality to either send individual messages to individual drivers, or send a broadcast (ie. a group message to a select group of drivers).
Plans
This takes you to a summary of the Plans in the org. Plans are used to take a snapshot of the state of a channel, so that the dispatcher can change it without having to deal with concurrent world events.
Plans can capture either the full state of a channel in a given window of time, or a view of specific jobs and channels. This allows plans to be created with fine-grained contents, allowing a single shift to be optimised without dealing with concurrent effects.
Dispatch
This takes you back to the map view of the dashboard.
Planning
Selecting this will bring currently visible stops and shifts into planning.
Solve
Selecting this will automatically assign and sequence stops using existing shifts based on set parameters.
Solve Settings
Selecting this will allow you to customise the solve settings. Solve settings are used to change the behaviour of NowGo in relation to solving and planning.
